Our priorities 2026–27

Four pillars for the year ahead

The Strategic Plan for October 2026–October 2027 brings together four connected pillars, developed through consultation with members and informed by Board sub-committees and invited co-opted contributors.

01

Education & Training

Tourism studies from P4 through S3, progression to IGCSE and A-level study, and industry-linked training to build a realistic long-term pathway into tourism careers.

Business Sustainability

Structured risk planning, practical self-sufficiency, resilient utilities and supply chains, skills development and viable businesses in a changing global market.

03

Maritime

Clearer regulation, digital services, maritime training and accountable yachting operations, while preserving existing industry forums and distinguishing draft policy from law.

04

Small & Medium Hotels

Proposals on photovoltaic allowances, levies and turnover tax, work/study development, constructive dialogue and clearer classification for small and medium hotels.

MahéMorne Seychellois

Mangroves, tropical forest and mountains reveal Mahé beyond its shoreline. Morne Seychellois National Park protects more than a fifth of the island, including habitat for endemic birds such as the elusive Seychelles scops-owl.

PraslinVallée de Mai

In Praslin’s interior, Vallée de Mai preserves a remarkable palm forest. This UNESCO World Heritage Site brings together all six Seychelles endemic palm species, including the coco de mer, whose seed is the world’s largest.

La DigueVeuve Special Reserve

Among La Digue’s lowland trees, Veuve Special Reserve protects breeding and feeding habitat for the Seychelles black paradise flycatcher. Badamier and takamaka trees provide preferred nesting places, linking the bird’s future to the island’s woodland.
